cant get these two clues

find pleasant article first from things of the same kind (3,4) ??? L???

bird makes entrance after half-day (7) ???G???


Anyone help!?

1) 'find pleasant' = LIKE
'article' = THE
'things of the same kin' = THE LIKE
2) 'Half day' = FRI(day)
'entrance' = GATE
'bird' = FRIGATE (a seabird)
